The American Indian Movement of Central Texas will gather at Energy Transfer Partners’ (ETP) corporate headquarters in a show of solidarity with the Native American people of the standing Rock Sioux Tribe, who are protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline. The peaceful gathering will be Friday, September 2, 2016, from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm, at 8111 Westchester Dr., Dallas, TX, 75225.

Native American actors A Martinez (Longmire television drama series) and Arthur Red Cloud (Academy Award-winning movie, The Revenant) have announced that they will participate in this protest action in person.

Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, in Cannon Ball, North Dakota, is challenging the Army Corps of Engineers' decision to grant permits for Dallas-based Energy Transfer Partners' $3.8 billion Dakota Access pipeline, which crosses through four states, and comes close to the reservation that straddles the North Dakota-South Dakota border. District Judge James Boasberg has said he will rule September 8 or 9, 2016. AIM of Central Texas will declare the “Peaceful Early September Uprising: NO MORE PIPELINES—STOP DAPL (Dakota Access Pipeline)” and demand that Energy Transfer Partners immediately and permanently cease attempting construction of the pipeline.
